A
note from Steve Lafler
To Whom it May Concern:
Yes it's true, Benb is indeed alive! The problem is, it's up to him to let
me know when he is ready for his close up.
Rest asured, he'll petition me as soon as he has something to NOT SAY!
Foil
Heads!
You know who you are. Currently, there are no Aluminum Foil books
available.
Benb does appear in several issues of Dog Boy, my comic book series
from the 80s.
You can also email me your request
for the books and I'll send you a paypal invoice.

By the way, you can pronounce BENB any way you like. Of course there are no
rules, you knew that!

Benb,
a.k.a. "The Happy Guy", is a chubby scarecrow man who always smiles
but never talks. He embodies a sort of zen nincompoop good cheer.
Benb was created by my friend Tim Robinson in the spring of '76 in a fit of
graphitti on the walls of my dorm room at UMass Amherst.
I wasted no time in appropriating Benb for my own purposes. He went on to be
a leading character in Aluminum Foil, a daily comic strip I wrote &
drew for the Massachusetts Daily Collegian from '76 through '79.
The joy and exhiliration I felt in working with this character as a college
kid are hard to describe. It's informed everything I've done as an artist since.
